I love planting a seed or buying a seedling and watching it grow into a mature plant that flourishes right before my eyes but I am truly in love with prorogation! The idea of taking a piece of a plant and regrowing a whole new one is just so cool to me. You can use rooting hormone on woody plants but most of the time I just take a clipping (from a healthy plant) and just stick it into soil.

Make sure you leave a few leaves at the top and take off any flowers. You want all the energy to form the roots. Keep the soil moist and have it in a place that is lit but not in direct sun. Test it out by giving your plant a little tug about two weeks after planting to see if the roots have formed. It is as easy as that. Of course there are many ways that people use to propagate but I find this works best for me. Experiment, try all the different ways and find the one that brings you the most success. Most importantly, have fun! Be careful, this can become pretty addicting and you may find yourself clipping from every plant you see.
