There are going to be a few frosty nights this winter so be sure to keep an eye on your plants during those nights. Depending on what plants you have, most will be fine if the weather gets cool but if a frost does threaten there are a few things you can do to help protect your plants.
You can water your plants that day, which will protect your plants because wet soils holds more heat.
If you go the traditional way of covering with a blanket or sheet, please remember to uncover your plants the next day or they could die from suffocation instead of frost. If you have smaller plants then milk jugs, empty pots, or plastic soda bottles make great covers too; just cut the tops off and put them over your plants.
If it’s going to get really cold and you are able, pull your more sensitive and tropical plants in the house but try to keep them close to a window if they like the sun.
